Wow, this is way overdue!

Elle is growing up and doing so many new things! She rolls over like a pro now. In fact, she rolls over and over again to get somewhere new and has become a hazard. Time for baby gates!
She found her feet and is always trying to put them in her mouth. Oh yes, and her vocabulary of baby gibberish is growing by leaps and bounds. Hope you enjoy the new pics!!

I kept trying to get Elle's baby noises on camera, but every time I got the camera out she'd stop making any of her sounds and just stare at the camera. Since you must see just how adorable she is, I kept trying. I figured out that she needs eye contact in conversation. So sorry for the weird angle, but the camera was not the main focus in our little chat.
The photo of us while I am brushing my teeth tells a story of true motherhood. Have you ever tried to lean over the sink to spit while holding a sleeping baby? It cannot be done without depositing the baby in the sink. So if you can imagine me craning my neck to try to hit the sink with a big mouth full of foamy toothpaste, and then me spitting it down the front of my shirt, then you'll have an accurate picture of last Tuesday night. Haha!

Rolling over?

Since I said that she was rolling over, I jinxed myself because now she won't do it again... hah. These videos are cute anyway though.

Here are a few pictures from the last two couple of days. She's doing great. She has started to roll over almost every time I put her on her tummy. She's a strong little girl!
I tried to upload a video the other day without any success, so I'll take another one and try again as soon as I get time.

I couldn't get a good picture of an open hand, but yes she does have pronounced ridges in her fingernails. That is indeed lint in between her toes. : )

Meeting new friends

Elle and I came to Colorado last Wednesday and are staying through the Fourth of July weekend. Everyone has been waiting to meet this beautiful baby, she's pretty much the most popular girl in Colorado.

Some people start reading to their kids while they're still in the belly, but Elle and I started today with "Llamma Llamma Misses Mamma."

Fuss Butt in the Old Swing

Elle's been a bit of a fuss butt the past couple of days. Usually she's very easy and doesn't really cry unless she's hungry or uncomfortable... okay now that i start to think about it there are a lot of reasons why she cries. But for the most part she's an excellent baby. Anyway, the past few days have been very trying. BUT I've discovered that she loves the swing! The only thing is that we're using a borrowed swing from a friend, and I can't figure out how to use the timer to keep it swinging. So, I bought her a new one this afternoon.
She had another appointment with the pediatrician this afternoon and she is now 7 lbs 7 oz. She's growing beautifully and Dr. Tweed assures me there's no medical reason for her recent fussiness. I'm afraid to admit that I think it's the spicey salsa and beans I had for lunch yesterday... ooops... I'm learning!!

Chubs

Adam said he didn't want our daughter to be a runt when he left and she is definitely not having any problems butting on the baby fat. She's got a double chin going and starting to get some rolls on her arms and legs. She's doing good with her "Tummy Time" and is able to hold her head up for quite a while before she bonks it on my collar bone. She's been a bit on the fussy side, so as you can see, she has the nuk back. : )

No more nuk...

Elle and I had a pretty big morning. We went to go see a lactation consultant because we have big problems. She eats well and is gaining weight beautifully, but I'm a lot worse for the wear. This is the last photo you will see of her with her beloved Nuk for a while, at least until she learns how to be nice when she eats. : )
Gotta go, almost time to feed her... again.
